The Instructors

Karlie Eggerbecht, Certified ISR Instructor

I am a certified ISR Instructor and have gone through an intensive training and certification program in order to be qualified to as such. I am also Red Cross Certified in infant and adult CPR and first aid. I have two daughters, three and five years old, who are ISR swimmers. My interest in becoming a certified ISR Instructor came from watching my daughters become confident and safely enjoy the water through learning the ISR aquatic self-rescue skills. I am a Sarasota Native and a graduate from the University of Florida (GO GATORS!).

Yvette Varnadore, Certified ISR Instructor, ARNP

Growing up in San Diego, CA the water has always been a part of my life. I started swimming competitively when I was 5 years old and enjoyed a long, enjoyable swimming career. As I entered college (in Pennsylvania) my focus shifted to my education as I completed my degree in Nursing and subsequently completed my advanced degree requirements to become a Certified Nurse Midwife/Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. I had a wonderful 22 year career in the healthcare field taking care of women and children and delivering thousands of babies! I am blessed to be able to continue my passion working with families and children; teaching them ISR aquatic survival skills.

My life has been enriched by a wonderful husband, David; four great children, three awesome stepsons and an energetic grandson and a beautiful granddaughter!
